Program

Mandarin Bilingual Program K-6 

• Students in the program study Alberta Learning approved curriculum with approximately 50 percent of instruction in Mandarin Chinese.
• Subjects taught in Mandarin in grades 1 to 6 include: Chinese language arts, mathematics, health and physical education.
• Laptop computers have the capacity to do word processing in Chinese.
• YCT Proficiency exam offered to Gr. 3-6 students yearly.

For the 2024-2025 school year, Caernarvon School is full in planned classes in Grades 3 and 5 in the Chinese (Mandarin) Bilingual program.  We will no longer accept enrolment requests for these grade levels in this program.

Regular and Mandarin program students interact and collaborate where possible.
